Blog 13 (lesson 2 reflection)

1. One thng I loved about the whole experience was that its n ot difficult to rech 10 minutes of talking time, fluency is a bit harder. Which is something I can work on.

 

2. a. I would give my self a p- I meet talking time stuttered a bit but overall it was not bad

 

b. All my information was related to my Eq maybe to the exception of one which was the spark plugs, The thing about them is you cant really see them anyways, my mistake.  

 

3. what worked was the pictures I felt that people were easily able to understand the parts of the car with visuals. If I just named parts of a car with no visuals a good majority of the people whould have no clue what I was talking about.

 

4. What I would have done was maybe take off spark plugs, I must have been caught up with performance and forgot out about appearance.

 

5. Something to do with modification, because to refurbish something it means to make better than what it was before, modifying lets you do this.

 

 

 

Third interview

1.     What is the the best way to refurbish a vehicle in order to get its optimal performance and appearance.

2.     Before taking the task of refurbishing a vehicle, is there an extent of damage that should be taken in consideration.

3.     When it comes to a vehicles performance, such as the engine, what things come into mined that you feel are the most important?

4.     What do you think gives a vehicle a good look when it comes to the body of a car?

5.     In your opinion is it worth it to refurbish a vehicle.

6.     What is the hardest things to work on when it comes to fixing up a car (engine or body) .

7.     What damage in a car do you consider “unworkable”.

8.     Are their car models that are bad candidates to even think of working on?

9.     What does refurbishing mean to you?

10.  In order to get the optimal performance in a car what parts of a car would you give the most attention to?

 

Blog 11

1. i did them with my mentor, paul, i pretty much shadow him were ever he goes. Ive gone to many interesting places because of him

4 We messed up the previous engine by tightning the bolts wat to tight. finally we got a new one an d is ready to be put in. 

Senior Project: The holiday

1.
Over break I fixed my mentor and I did an oil change on my sisters car, and found out that the struts in the car have been severely damaged because of the poor job of a mechanic who recently replaced the shocks. This was bad news to my sister, but the good news is that the engine for my mentors Honda civic is going to be bought this Saturday which we will be working on all day.
Blog 10: Senior Project: The Holiday

The most important thing I have learned is, when doing work in a car, the work must be done in with the best quality. If not you risk damaging your vehicle, I know so from the example of my sisters car and the time my mentor and I applied paint in the cars interior; and it started to chip of because of the sun heat.

3.
I would either talk to my mentor or my neighbor Alex. Alex works for triple A, and has a car of his own. He is pretty savvy when it comes to cars, because I've seen him work on them since I was a little boy.

 

Extra blog post (December)

We have not done much with the car lately, most of the time when I see my mentor we do little things like clean the car, in order to ensure rust build up, because it still has its primer. But what we did do is refurbish the front bumper. When he had bought the car it had been ruined and now looks 100 times better. It still has to be painted, but can not be done outside a house due to fume regulations.

Wax on Wax Off (November post 2)

As of now my mentor and I have not done much to his car. He installed new carpet and tinting which I have not seen for myself yet. The engine wont be installed some time in January, because of money. Either way this month has been productive. I got the chance to wax my sisters Honda! It is no easy task and requires at least an hour and a half of your time. Before the wax is applied you must wash the car, but more importantly clay it. The clay bar takes of the smallest of dirt, or dust particles. Not until then do you apply the wax, which gives it a nice shine! Lastly we figured out that my sisters car needs a new pair of steer rods, which have been ordered and are on there way.

 a. This essential question makes sense but lacks depth, because of the fact that it is asking what is the most important factor, which will only give you a single answer. it would probably be best if it is changed from "factor" to "factors" giving it a multitude of answers.

b. This EQ makes sense and has evidence of being able to go into more depth. It is asking "what is most important" which can be a variety of things, points can be brought up to prove that a certain thing is most important to securing a criminal.

c.    This EQ 's sentence makes sense and can go into depth. It is similar to b and can go into greater detail. It also has a solid stance "satisfies a customer"

e. This EQ has an easy straight to the point question. It also makes sense, and is capable of going into depth to answer  the best treatment for chronic pain.

3. What is the best way to customize a vehicle in order to fit ones standards.
